…there's a lot out there now that I don't give a damn about.
• I don't give a damn that Whitney Houston is dead. I especially take exception that it was the lead story on all three major network "news" programs this morning. The economy is in the tank, the administration is still trying to pull fast ones left and right, the Iranians are chortling about some major announcement concerning their nuclear program, Greece is on fire, Costa Rica got rocked with a 6.1 earthquake and Syria is trying to kill as many of its citizens as possible, yet I'm supposed to be struck to my very core by the death of a self-destructive has-been celebrity?
Please. I know the American people aren't the brightest in the world, but this pandering to the lowest common denominator has reached a new low.
Yes, she was a human being and on that level I'm sorry her life has ended, but when you continually waste the gifts you're given I fail to have sympathy.
• I don't really give a damn about the whole Komen/Planned Parenthood thing. From what I've read, I'm inclined to think both sides handled it badly, but since I don't support either cause it's a non-issue to me.
• I'm over the whole primary thing, with exceptions. The Republican party had a chance to make a cakewalk of this whole election thing, but is choosing to eff it up. I'm all for a brokered convention at this point.
What I do care about:
• That the Anointed One is still on a spending spree, without any budget on the horizon. God forbid THAT be on the agenda in an election year.
• All this bruhaha over the Obamacare/contraception/insurance thing is obstructing the real issue: freedom of choice in the truest sense. GayPatriot gets it right in his summary, here.
• That bullschitt like this will be embraced by the mainstream media in attempt to recapture the tingling-leg sensation.
• Whether or not my car will ever start again. I'm really concerned about that right now. And how I'm supposed to afford it after three years as an unwilling recipient of all this "hope" and "change."
K out.

I'm right there with you on the whole Whitney thing. My God, I haven't seen that kind of wall to wall news coverage (Sat. night) since....Michael Jackson died? The press/media/stars act like this was some HUGE tragedy, that she was at the height of her stellar career and has been "tragically" struck down. Bull $hit. The real tragedy occurred 10, 15?, years ago when she hooked up with Bobby and became a total crack head. She was "dead" years ago. If so many people "loved" her, where were they? It was no secret that she'd been downward spiraling and pretty much at rock bottom for years. I was not in the least surprised to hear it Sat. night.
Ditto on the Repubs and the convention. I'm so scared and getting more terrified by the day. Can you IMAGINE what will happen if BHO gets another 4 years and WON'T be having to worry about re-election?? Terrifying. Really. And God forbid if we lose the House and/or don't gain the Senate. Hello European-America. And he would get to appoint how many Supreme Court justices in 4 more years? Okay, I'll stop now. I'm starting to hyperventilate.
Komen/PP? Meh.
Sorry about your car. Hope it isn't anything major. :-(

The Truth Team is creepy. Out of curiosity, I went and the first article I read about Barry keeping his promises, I was quite easily able to debunk. I wrote an article and sent it to Bo as a guest post. But, the pandering masses will take whatever is put out on those websites as absolute truth.

Thank you for putting to words my thoughts on the Houston, PPH/Komen, and other issues. Houston was dead many years ago, don't act all broken up about it Hollywood. As to the Rep noms, I am not sure who I will vote for, it's gonna be tense through this year. I would prefer to just bury my head in the sand, but that gets me nowhere.
Hope the car is going to keep starting!

Sorry, I can't get behind GayPatriot on the contraception issue - his quoted material has a bit that says "But that would be to discriminate against women, the courts have held, since only women get pregnant. Thus does our antidiscrimination law, as found in statutes, trump religious liberty, as once protected by the Constitution." Well, hell yeah, anti-discrimination should trump religious liberty. We get up in arms about Islamic practices and Sharia law, saying that women should have more rights than that imposes, but when it comes to the US's dominate religion discrimination is OK?
I do see a difference between what I consider to be direct religious institutions vs. big employers with a religious affiliation, but I'm not sure that I believe that difference is enough. Then again, I don't know if the Churches, Synogogues, etc have enough employees to force them to provide insurance, versus getting their employees on the exchanges.
Don't worry, I'll never report you to Attach Watch. :) Debate is good!
