Because at least I get to walk away from the house for a while.
oh come on. it wasn't that bad.
No, no… it wasn't. Actually, it went quite well. No bodies to bury in the backyard. I'm just exhausted. My house is a wreck. Bits of stuff everywhere. Every time I clear a surface it gets covered almost instantly. Food, dirty dishes, toy parts, dust… everywhere dust.
I think for the new year I'm going to do a massive clear out. If it's not nailed down or vital for my survival, it's going to be thrown away. Maybe.
you're not throwing away yarn, are you?
Oh, hell no. I'm knitting it up. Look:

Pattern: Lace Scarf, from Nancie Wiseman's Knitted Shawls, Stoles and Scarves.
Yarn: Fiesta Boomerang in Navajo Silver.
Needles: US8 Clover straights.
waitaminutewaitaminutewaitaminute… you used straights?
I do, on occasion. Don't act as if it's some kind of apocalyptic sign or something. Sheesh.

Notes: I am seriously in like with this yarn. Squishy, soft without not being pillish, and very easy to knit with. Doesn't split. And the colors really pop. Glow. Change depending on the kind of light they're in. You should get you some. I think Mom will like it. I also think I ought to get the ends woven in sometime soon.
So I immediately cast on for another pair of socks. Not mine. And another sweater for HSH. In three days of knitting on it, I'm already divided for the sleeves. When Wendy called this the "quicko-cheapo," she wasn't kidding. I may finish it before she outgrows it.

Beautiful scarf!! Yeah..I'm getting tired of dishes that's for sure!

I love the scarf. And I still love my scarf.
M/D have the kids for the next two days - yipee! I have to go to Alexandria today - boo!
But at least I will have some time to knit tonight, right? And clean up the bits and pieces of a race track, train set, game boards, left over wrapping paper, etc....

I'm back at work today as well and am having a wonderful time ;) I sometimes work with straights - but the only ones I like are the 6" children's straights... What!?!? I have short forearms!

Yeah it's a beauty of a scarf. I try to use my straights but I find that I have to sit up and not slouch with straights and I can basically lie down while knitting on circs. You can see how I have my priorities. ;)
I really am doing a massive clean out. I am changing my heavy consumerist ways and clearing out all the accumulated crap that I can no longer dust. I am also no longer buying items made in China. How this will work out is yet to be seen. More shocking revelations to come. Stay tuned.
